My hormones have been a mess even before puberty. Lots of mood up and downs as early as 11 years old. I will never forget when I got my FIRST period. Horrible cramps, excruciating lower back pain (I could hardly move), and of course TONS of blood.
The funny thing is I would have thought I was injured and my insides were bleeding and asked Mom to take me to the emergency room had it not been for sex education in school.
Yup, my mom never told me about menstrual cycles!
Heavy long periods requiring many purchases of “super long with wings”. Ladies, you know what I’m talking about.
Then peri-menopause hit! I slept well my whole life, once my head hit the pillow, I was out. Now I DREADED going to bed because it was TORTURE.
Tossing & turning only to get a little bit of sleep for a few hours, then only to be awake at 3 am drenched in sweat. Worst of all, worried sick about how I was going to survive at work.
“Crap, am I going to make lots of mistakes and be the UNRELIABLE employee?”
Hair loss, low moods, headaches, anxiousness ensued. I felt so alone and hopeless.
Then I started trying all these “quick fix gimmicks” but they didn’t work, they’re gimmicks after all. They only made things worse.
