Confession - when Istarted using Young Living™ Essential Oils (EO) back in 2015 I had no clue what they were! I just knew that my Lavender bottle of EO had a liquid inside that helped my skin big time.
One year later I learned that an essential oil is a liquid that contains the aromatic compounds of a plant. The term essential oil was coined by the 16th century Swiss botanist and alchemist, Paracelsus and comes from the word "essence". The word "oil" may have come from the fact that essential oils mix with fat, not with water.
I was so glad to find out that all my EO (including my BFF Lavender EO) are highly volatile. The liquid evaporates rapidly into a gas. *This means that as soon as you uncap the bottle, you'll want to recap asap.* I don't want to lose any of my precious EO :)
Honestly, I thought essential oils were the next popular fad...but once again, I...
When my co-worker mentioned essential oils and aromatherapy to me back in 2014, I thought "No, so not interested!" After all, my true understanding and perception of aromatherapy was this - using scented products like candles and essential oils in the bath to relax and smell good.
Fast forward to summer of 2015, I was going through a huge transition in my life. My arms and legs started to itch like crazy - so much so it kept me up all night. I know all the intense emotions I was going through was the cause of this. My friend suggested I try Lavender essential oil (EO) to support my skin. Sold, I was willingto try anything at this point. I'm forever grateful I did.
This was the beginning of my relationship with essential oils. I've experienced unbelievable improvements to my physical and emotional wellbeing. I truly see them as my BFFs, they have supported me through thick and thin....
